# 📝 Research Project Plan
In order to carefully consider each step the field study, My first activity was to create and write down a research project plan to carry out the observations. Â
## Purpose of the project:
- Plan, carry out and analyze user observations of local customers while they visit Galleries Lafayette Paris Haussmann to learn what their customer experience look like.
## Method:
- Hybrid role
- Passive “fly on the wall” observations (where I interfere as little as possible) to get that *natural behavior*.
- Active observations (because there are thoughts that are going on in their heads, and I won't get that necessarily just from watching them.)
## Desired characteristics of your participants:
- Local customers
- Recruiting through social media
## Data collection:
- Photos/Video/audio (Check recording equipment bellow)
- Note Taking (pen book and obisidian)
- Participation (by participating, I get to learn about what it's really like by doing it.)
## Location of your observations:
- Galleries Lafayette Paris Haussmann
- Close to the entry/exit
- Close to the information panel
- Close the a store
## Recording equipment:
- Redmi 5G. I want them to forget about the camera (my phone), but I don't want it hidden either. I want it very clear there's a camera there, but in such a position that they can forget about it, but not pretend to the person I'm not filming: I'm not secret-videoing here. This is simply about trust and ethic 🙂 !
## Observation guide:
- I'll introduce the study and method before the observations start during the first meeting
- I'll begin the observations right before entering the Galleries Lafayette
- I'll end the observations after the contextual inquiry with the participant, right after his entire customer experience took place.
## Consent:
I'll ask for participants’ permission to record them during the recruiting process (first interview.)
## Time plan
I'll write down the schedule of my observation sessions once I confirm the right timings with the participants.
